Parents can spend tons of money during the Halloween season on candy, decorations, and costumes. For most children their costume will only last for one night and then they’ll either outgrow it or it will get ruined from all of the trick or treating. With that said, you can make easy Halloween masks out of a paper bag. It will not only look scary, but it is much less expensive and it will be fun for you and the kids to make together. First and foremost place the paper bag over your child’s head, and trace where the eyes and nose will need to be cut out. It’s important that you do this or else you will cut them somewhere too high or too low.
You can decorate the paper bag however you see fit, and can add all kinds of different features, depending on what character your child wants to be for Halloween. Use all kinds of fun things like feathers, glitter glue, and colored construction paper. You can also add on to your paper bag mask by creating ears or other extras. Remember that the eyes and mouth don’t have to be exactly where your eyes are; you can always cut out holes to see, but make the actual eyes somewhere else on the bag. Don’t limit yourself if you don’t want to.
No matter how you choose to make the paper bag Halloween mask, remember to give yourself or your child plenty of breathing room and lots of room to see in all directions, particularly peripheral vision to ensure safety. You will have a great time coming up with creative ideas to decorate and prepare your paper bag mask, and everyone will be impressed with your talent. Plus, you’ll save lots of money and have one of the most original Halloween costumes of all.
